Indira Nath, internationally known Immunology professor through her studies on the prevention and the treatment of leprosy. Currently, Dr. Nath is Director of LEPRA Society - Blue Peter Research Centre, President of the Institute of Pathology (IOP) of New Delhi and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet of the Government of India, among other positions. In 2002 Dr. Nath was awarded with the L'Oreal-Unesco “For Women in Science Award” for Asia-Pacific. In 2003 Dr. Nath was awarded Docteur Honoris Causa by the University Pierre et Marie Curie of Paris and the same year was conferred Knight of the National Order of Merit by the President of France, Jacques Chirac.
Lourdes J. Cruz, Professor in Biochemistry at the Marine Science Institute, University of the Philippines and member of the National Academy of Science and Technology of the Philippines. Dr. Cruz is an expert in marine toxinology and co-discoverer of many conotoxins, on which she has over 110 publications. In 1993, she was awarded the Sven Brohult Award by the International Science Foundation for Science in Sweden. She also received the Outstanding ASEAN Scientist and Technologist Award in 2001. In January 2008, Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo conferred to Dr. Cruz the Order of National Scientist, the highest science award in the Philippines.
Mitiko Go, President of Ochanomizu University in Tokyo, one of the oldest women's universities in Japan. Dr. Go is member of the Council for Science and Technology Policy of Japan, member of Science Council of Japan and member of Central Council for Education (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan). She was also former President of the Biophysical Society of Japan, former President of the Japanese Society of Evolution, and former Vice-President of Protein Society of Japan. She is Professor Emeritus of Nagoya University, expert in Biophysics, Bioinformatics and Molecular Evolution. Dr. Go is contributing to governmental programs encouraging scientists women.
Helen Lee, Associate Professor of Medical Biotechnology and Director of Diagnostics Development Unit at the University of Cambridge, England, is a world-renowned expert in the field of medical diagnostics. She founded Diagnostics for the Real World Ltd (DRW) in 2002 and located in California, where she is also the President & CEO. She chaired the Diagnostic Steering Committee at the World Health Organization. She received the 2005 Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran Award, the 2006 British Female Inventor in Industry Award, the 2006 European Women of Achievement Award, the 2007 Asian Women of Achievement Award, and the 2007 Tech Museum Award for innovation in the Health category.
Surbhi Sharma, Director of the Software Companies Association in India ITSMA - Interactive Technology Software and Media Association, and founder of the NGO Anchorage focusing on poverty alleviation programs, by deploying ICT tools. She has participated in European Union funded projects and has attended many conferences across the world about gender and development. Recently she was appointed Secretary-General of the International Federation of Multimedia Associations.
Moderado a cargo de Nuria Oliver, Scientific Director in Multimedia of Telefónica R&D. Dr. Olivier received the BSc (honors) and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the ETSIT at the Technical University of Madrid and PhD by the Massachusetts Institute of Techonology (MIT). From July 2000 to October 2007, she was a researcher at Microsoft Research in the United States. The prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has included her in the list of the 100 young Scientists in the word wide avant-garde in computer, nanotechnology and biotechnology.

Margarita Salas, Disciple of Severo Ochoa and great promoter of the Spanish research in the Biochemical and Molecular Biology field. She has obtained several awards, being awarded “European Researcher 1999” by the L'Oreal-Unesco “For Women in Science Award” and King Jaime I Research Award in 1994. Dr. Salas was appointed President of the Spanish Institute (1995-2003), organism that gathers all the Spanish Royal Academies. She is member of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences, Royal Spanish Academy and President of the Severo Ochoa Fundation. On May 2007 she was appointed member of the National Academy of Science of the United States, becoming the first Spanish women to belong to this Institution. Dr. Salas is Research Professor of the CSIC at the Severo Ochoa Centre of Molecular Biology (Scientific Research Center- Autonomous University of Madrid).
Moderado a cargo de Carmen Vela, graduate in Chemical Sciences by the Complutense University of Madrid and President of the Researcher and Technological Women Association (AMIT). She conducted pre-PHD studies in immunology (Jiménez Díaz Foundation) and virology (CBM). Project chief in INGENASA in 1982. Promoted to Laboratory chief in 1984 and Director General in 1988. From 1994, she is President of the company. She is an expert on allergic reaction mechanisms, design of tests of virology diagnosis and development of neutralizing products (vaccines) of parvovirus. She is member of ESTA (European Science and Technology Assembly), co-author of the ETAN report about women in science and expert of the working party STRATA-ETAN regarding women and research in the private sector.
